Terry Simmonds

Terry was originally from Stratford but has lived in the Shipston area for 35 years.

The 1st couple of months at Fosseway Hire has seen Terry mainly in the inspection bay, checking over returned equipment, cleaning it, logging it in the system and preparing it to go out on hire again.

More recently he has also started working behind the counter and answering telephone enquiries, so if you come in and get served by someone a little slower than usual – that’s probably Terry

Main job role – Part time help in the yard

Favourite piece of equipment – Wacker plates – They are virtually maintenance free, start 1st time and easy to clean.

Also likes micro and small mini diggers as he can play at being a digger driver when taking them to the cleaning bay.

Favourite part of the job – Being part of a team, being outside and being active

Favourite food – Homemade lasagne

Least favourite food – Any offal (kidneys, liver, etc.)

Hobbies/past-times – Tries to play a bit of golf, keen American Football fan (Go Jets), Still spends far too much time just generally loafing around on the Internet.

Dislikes – Impatient people, bad phone lines, people speaking too fast or not clear enough that he can hear them.

Having previously spent 25 years working for a local builder and also helping out with the Fosseway Hire websites means he has a pretty good knowledge of the equipment hired out, he soon learned though that tipping petrol machines upside down to wash them is a bit of a no no!
